Waiting Room

COVID-19

As you might expect, the current pandemic has had a significant impact on therapeutic services which involve prolonged face to face contact indoors. For the safety of my clients, their families and myself, at the present time the majority of services will be delivered either online (via video or message facilities if you prefer), by telephone or outdoors if we consider this suitable and the weather is on our side. However, if you feel that you need a face to face appointment, please get in touch and we can discuss whether and how this might be achieved.

Seeking Help

There are times in our lives when it might be useful to talk to someone about things that are difficult.  However, it can sometimes be hard to do this with people who know you well for many reasons. You may have shared histories and experiences, they may feel differently to you or you may simply want to protect them from knowing how you really feel inside. Talking to a trained professional can offer an unconditional, non-judgement and impartial perspective and give you the space and safety to say the things you need to say and be honest about how you feel. Things can often seem overwhelming or unmanageable and you might simply need someone to help you to sort through the thoughts swimming around in your mind and how you feel about them and how they might be impacting on your life. Our main aim will be to work together to help you to move forwards in living the life you would like to live and feeling better able to meet your life goals and values.

I have experience of working with adults and children experiencing a range of issues such as;

  • Anxiety (including panic, phobias, worry, health anxiety, social anxiety)

  • Depression and low mood

  • Low self-esteem

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Behavioural difficulties (including feeding, sleeping, anger management)

  • Self-harming behaviours

  • Suicidal thoughts

  • Emotion regulation difficulties

  • School issues (bullying, exam stress, friendship difficulties)

  • Postnatal difficulties (postnatal depression, anxiety, birth trauma)

  • Stress (work, family, general)

  • Grief and loss

  • Neurodevelopmental difficulties (including adjustment to diagnosis, school difficulties, eating, wetting/soiling, anxiety)

  • Divorce

  • Coping with physical illness

  • Loneliness and isolation
